The Music-Preneur Mindset

“I am tired of feeling like I'm the only one stuck figuring out where to go next in my career.”

I hear this ALL the time as a mindset coach for music professionals. It takes a LOT of work to build a career in music but it DOESN'T need to feel impossible!

Learning to think like an entrepreneur will allow you to manage the business of your music, create sustainable streams of income, and reach the fans who WANT to engage with you WITHOUT suffering from all the overwhelm & burnout!

Your Host

Suz | The Rock/Star Advocate

Hey there! I'm Suz, a mindset coach for music professionals, helping them identify and reach their goals by creating customized time management strategies and tools to keep them working smarter, not harder.

As the author of The Rock/Star Life Planner & host of The Music-Preneur Mindset Podcast, the goal of everything I do is to descrease overwhelm and increase a healthy work-life balance. Welcome to a new kind of music conference!

So excited to officially kick things off Friday, 9/28 @ 11am, with 2 industry leaders who truly understand the importance of this mission - helping independent musicians see themselves as successful business owners. They have created an incredible movement through their organization World Artists United & recently brought the house down at Harvard University with the Music Entrepreneur Conference this past April. Read more about their mission and work here.

F.A.Q.

#1. How do I get there?

>> If you're coming in from out of state you'll want to fly into JFK Airport and then you can easily take a quick cab ride to the hotel {or wherever you'll be staying} OR you can take the AirTrain to Jamaica Station and then hop on the Long Beach line towards Long Beach and it's about a 25-minute ride from there! AirTrain is $5 & Long Beach LIRR train schedules & fares can be found here.

>> If you're coming from Penn Station or Atlantic Terminal, simply get on a Long Beach train and you'll be there in no time! LIRR schedules & fares can be found here.

>> If you're driving, click the address in this section & it will give you directions!

#2. How much does it cost?

>> You have 3 different options for purchasing a ticket. If you can't make it in person, $27 is all you need to stream all the panels + workshops live in a private FB Group. You'll then have 7 days from the end of the Summit to watch all of recordings before you lose access. If you purchase the $47 ticket you can join us in person AND you'll also have 7 days from the end of the Summit to watch all of recordings before you lose access. With the $67 ticket you can join us in person AND receive lifetime access to all of the recordings. If you can't make it in person but want lifetime access you will need to purchase the $67 ticket.

>> When you arrive in person there may be opportunities to purchase merch from bands performing, books and products from the speakers, etc. Also consider food, drinks, and transportation within your budget. The venues and accommodations are all within walking distance from one another and Junction is directly across the street from the LIRR, however you may want to Uber/Lyft at times if you plan to explore all of Long Beach :D

#3. Where can I stay?

>> We have a block of rooms available at a discount but you MUST book by the end of August! Click here for more details. For hotels, your options are The Long Beach Hotel and Allegria. Keep in mind Sept 27-29 is still considered in-season for Long Beach.

>> Air B&B is not licensed in Long Beach, however a number of attendees live in the area and may have a spot for you to crash. Be sure to coordinate inside the private FB Group once you've purchased your ticket and we will make sure you find shelter!

#4. What can I expect to learn?

>> We are BIG on providing a digestible education, so no overwhelm here! There's never more than 1 panel or workshop going on at a time and we will be providing helpful workbooks/worksheets to help you retain what's being taught.

>> If you want to learn how to quit your day job to do music full-time, learn how to better manage your full-time music gig, or learn more effective ways to make money/energize your fanbase/build your team THIS IS THE PLACE FOR YOU!

#5. How can I get a ride or find a place to stay?

>> Once you purchase your ticket you'll gain access to a private FB Group where you can coordinate rides and find people offering up rooms. You can also book a room at The Long Beach Hotel using our group discount. Simply call them and tell them you're with the Rockstar block to get the discounted rate. See more information here

#6. Why are there 3 different types of tickets & which one do I buy?

>> To make this Summit as accessible as possible, we're offering a $27 ticket for those who'd like to stream the panels + workshops from home. We also offer 2 different tiers of in-person tickets. See #2 in F.A.Q. for more details. If you still have questions, please email admin@therockstaradvocate.com at any time.

#7. What do I need to bring with me?

>> If you're joining us in person, you may want to consider packing: Business Cards • ID • Phone {+ Charger!} • Notebook/Journal/Laptop {+ Charger!} • Pens/Pencils • Wallet • Comfortabe Clothes {yoga pants for morning classes} • Sun Screen/Bathing Suits {it can still be pretty warm at the beach}

>> Please do not bring flyers/stickers/etc. to paper the venue with. Come ready to connect and build relationships. They go a lot further and cost nothing :)

#7. What if I can't stay for/virtually tune into the whole Summit?

>> That's ok! All sessions will be recorded and you'll have 1 week from the end of the Summit to watch the recordings OR purchase the $67 ticket option and have access to all recordings for a lifetime!
